Currie Chieftains play at Currie RFC, a community rugby club that welcomes everyone.
The club was founded in 1970 ‘to promote and develop the game of rugby in the area for the benefit of the sport and the community’. Our aim remains to offer excellent rugby facilities and coaching and an outstanding experience for rugby players and supporters. We provide rugby for male and female players from adult to pre-school level.
New Membership Notes 2026-27
Coach/Managers/First Aiders, category 4 gives entry to all League games for Coach Development and a top every odd year of membership and a tee shirt every even year of membership. Access to SRU coaching courses which will be paid for by the Club after agreement with the Chair of the Youth Committee. First Responder First Aid courses are currently free and delivered by the SRU. Chair of Youth Committee will monitor the number of coaching courses per age group to ensure that no one year group is over subscribed.
The Ladies section has been split in two, S1 – U18 and Adult, training only. The new fees leave the Adult membership at the same rate as Social but see an increase in the S1 – U18.This will continue to increase over the next season until it is in line with the P4 – U18 rate in the Youth Section when it will encompass boys and girls.
All playing memberships must be paid in full or the first of 8 monthly payments must be paid before the 1st October, otherwise the player will not be selected to play for any team nor will be allowed to train. For players arriving later in the season, memberships have to be paid up by 1st May.

Membership Categories
Category A - membership gives a season ticket for home league matches (excluding Premiership play-off games and Scottish Cup games), discounted bar prices, access to the clubhouse and non-private functions, access to purchasing International Tickets and voting rights at the AGM/EGM of Currie RFC Ltd. Family memberships are combinations which are made up of a full member, a spouse/partner member and all children in the family as outlined below. These members have the benefits of the individual memberships which make up the package.
Category B - membership gives a reduced gate fee (£10 per match) for home league matches (excluding Premiership play-off games and Scottish Cup games), discounted bar prices, access to the clubhouse and non-private functions, access to purchasing International Tickets.
Category C - membership gives one complimentary ticket to a home league match, discounted bar prices, access to the clubhouse and non-private functions, access to purchasing International Ticket. The discount for Associate/Spouse/Partner entry is a £5 discount, therefore £10 entry to the game under the current charging system.
Category D - membership is the Youth category. It gives coaching, training and playing to SRU standards, Coach Logic supported training at key stages, organised match conferences and playing structures, free entry to home matches of senior teams, access to purchasing International Tickets and for an additional charge, access to tours organised at key stages and to rugby camps. Parents/guardians are encouraged to use the Clubhouse facilities and Breakout when they are at Malleny. They are welcome to come to all Communication Meetings and the AGM where their feedback and ideas will be warmly received and actively considered by the Board and Management Committee.
Category L - Life Membership – for season 2026-27, there will be 10 life memberships available at £2,750 each.
